Off-page optimization means those ranking factors that are not located in any of your web pages. That is they are not dependent on on-page optimization factors. You may not be able to influence these factors directly except you are involved in “link farming.” And link farming is a punishable offence by banning your web site from search engines if found guilty! Be careful and be warned so as not to axe yourself by the Almighty Search Engines before achieving the ranking you desire for your web pages. However, you can influence off-page optimization indirectly by doing what is right for search engines. That is simply by offering quality content and high-end information that endear webmasters to link up to your site. Some of the few off-page optimization factors to bear in mind will include: web sites linking to your site the number of web sites linking to your site the number of web sites linking to the web site that is linking to you the authority of the web sites linking to you directly and indirectly the IP addresses of web sites linking to you i.e. different IP addresses of web sites linking to you seem more original than web sites originating from one IP address linking to you.
